The University of Birmingham's close connection to transplant research makes us proud to be hosts of the Westfield Health British Transplant Games 2018.& The Games celebrate organ transplantation, promote fitness and raise public awareness.In order to facilitate both competitor and supporter parking please be advised of the folowing car park closures:South Gate Car Park&This car park will be closed 1st-5th August inclusive (1st August will be a set up day)North East Multi Storey&Levels Ground to Floor 3 will be reserved for competitors and supporters 2nd - 5th August.Staff are asked to park on levels 4 and 5 only.

UoB Sport & Fitness Car Park
The multi-storey car park at Sport & Fitness (accessed via Edgbaston Park Road)&has limited available space for staff&who are both Sports&Centre members and who hold a valid 5 day full tariff Purple Permit issued by the Uniuversity Car Parking Office.As spaces are limited, access will be granted on a 'first come,first served basis'.&& For your ID card to be enabled&to gain access to the Sports centre barriers please complete a registration form at the Sport & Fitness reception.& Your eligibility will be validated with Car Parking Services.For any car parking queries relating to the Sports Centre car park, please contact the reception directly: 7 or &&&&&&

The University has a car park management system at both&the Edgbaston and Selly Oak&sites.& Any vehicle which contravenes the University of Birmingham's Traffic Regulations regarding vehicles on campus&may be issued with a parking charge.&&
The following offences contravene the University&s Traffic Regulations and will incur a charge of &60, which will be reduced to &30 if paid within 14 days.

Access to barriered areas of&campus&is controlled by using your Staff ID card and is charged at either&a flat rate of &1.00 per day or by a&fixed monthly fee (see options&below)&in all locations between 08.00am and 18:00pm Monday to Friday. This includes vehicles which have entered before 08:00am and leave after 18:00pm, if they are present during the charging period. Charges do not apply between&18:00pm on one day and 08:00am the next day.Parking is based&on a first come, first served basis, all staff parking on campus should be in possession of a valid parking permit.
Some dedicated parking provision is made for disabled users. Disabled staff are entitled to free

Honorary&Staff are charged to park in the University's car parks.&All staff will need to ensure that they display a valid parking permit when parking in any of the University car parks.&
There will be 3 permit options available:
Option 1Annual permit &250 (purple permit) - this will allow the permit holder to park on the&**main campus (with the exception of restricted parking areas as shown below)&&&or any of the University's peripheral car parks for 12 months. Option 26 month permit &125 (purple permit) - this will allow the permit&holder&to park on the **main campus (with the exception of restricted parking areas as shown below)&or any of the University's peripheral car parks for&6 months.&
** Chancellors Court, Hills car park and the Medical School Forecourt are restricted parking areas to authorised staff only.

Parking availabilty for students at the University of Birmingham is extremely limited and is available to thosewho fit a set criteria only as set out below.

Your term time address is over 10 miles away from the University.The address given on your application must match&the term time address&registered with Student Services and therefore showing on your student record. &(Applications will not be processed if these addresses don't match).& Please ensure your student record is up to date.& Proof of address may be requested.
You have dependents under the age of 16&who live with you at&your term time address and that address&is over 3 miles away from the University.& Students with dependent children who live within a 3 mile radius will not be granted a permit.& &
You are are registered as a carer to disabled family members at their permanent home address Evidence will be required, please upload any relevant&documentation that supports your application e.g child passport, child tax credit award letter, carer registration document.

Parking at the University of Birmingham is free of charge&after 6.00pm Mon - Fri and is free all day at weekends.
Visitors who require access to the main campus for business purposes should contact the department they are visiting to request a permit which should be hung from the rear view mirror of their vehicle.&
Please be advised that enforcement procedures are in place in all University parking areas and penalty charge notices will be issued to all vehicles that fail to comply with University Traffic Regulations.

How much does RingGo cost?
There is no charge for registering with RingGo and no charge for using the smartphone applications.
When you park your vehicle with RingGo you will pay a 20p convenience charge on top of the parking tariff that applies.& This charge will be shown on your credit/debit card statement.& Optional parking session confirmation and reminder texts (alerting you when your session is about to run out) cost 10p per message.

PRIORITY CAR PARKING BAYS FOR STAFF CAR SHARE MEMBERS
The University now has&40 priority car parking spaces&in use for staff who&are registered ub.liftshare members.&

Spaces are reserved for&registered members only until 9.30am.& Users must display a valid University of Birmingham parking permit and two membership cards visibly on the dashboard of the car.
Spaces that are not occupied by 9.30am will become available for general parking.&&&&&
To apply for your membership card please register&via ub.liftshare.& Once registered with Liftshare you will then need to find a car sharing 'Budi'. &Once you have found somebody to share with you can set up a 'Liftshare' team which will give you a unique team reference.&&A confirmation e-mail will be sent to our Sustainable Travel Co-ordinator who will&arrange for your membrship cards to be sent out to you.
If you are already a registered member then you will also need to set up a&Liftshare team as above.
Car Sharing Protocol&
When using the designated car share spaces on campus you must display twomembership cards visibly on the dashboard of the car.
You must display a valid parking permit or ticket
You should not park in the designated car sharing spaces when not car sharing.
You must notify the car parking office
immediately of any changes to your car share arrangement and if you cease car sharing you must revert to using a normal car park space and return your membership card to Car Parking Services, 1st Floor Staff House.
Please Note: Enforcement action including Penalty Charge Notices (PCN) may be taken if the designated car share spaces are not used correctly.
