Why Early Access?
&When we started developing Heroes & Generals it was with the intention of creating a game for the gamers as much as for ourselves. The games we have been creating in the past (back in the IO Interactive days) have all been shrouded in secrecy until they were released and therefore always carried a number of things that players did not like but we were unable to change. Because it is the players that in the end plays the game we think they should have greater influence on the development.
Since the very early days of the project in 2011 (pre-alpha stage), we invited players in to play the game and have involved our community in the making of Heroes & Generals and listened to the feedback from them. So it's a natural extension of the way we develop Heroes & Generals, to also include the Steam Community, by going Early Access.&
Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?
&We're approaching the end of our Open Beta/Early Access phase, but it's still too soon for us to put a date on when we'll launch.&
How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?
&We're still tweaking, fixing bugs and adding new features to Heroes & Generals, and even though we feel that the game is now fun and quite stable, we still wish to get all things 'just right' before we call it 'launched'.
We do not plan to do a full server reset when the game launches.&
What is the current state of the Early Access version?
&We're in the end of our Open Beta phase, preparing for launch.&
Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?
&Heroes & Generals is Free2Play. We wish to create a healthy, solid and well-balanced game and community, where you can get a great experience playing the game, no matter how much money you spend! There is already an in-game economy in place, where you earn in-game credits and warfunds for being active in the game, by playing FPS-missions and/or handling Assault Teams.
You can also buy gold, which you can use to buy practically everything, usually it give you the option of buying stuff
‘early’, so you don’t need to grind that much. We also offer a Veteran Membership to accommodate wishes of having an all-inclusive package, where you earn xp, ribbon-xp, in-game credits and warfunds at an increased rate etc.
Prices are regularly being tweaked now in Open Beta/Early Access and we will most likely still tweak prices at and after launch.&

About This Game
Heroes & Generals is a Free2Play Massively Online FPS with a Strategic Multiplayer Campaign, set in the midst of World War II Europe, where the United States, Germany and the Soviet Union all fight each other for control.
The game uniquely merges epic first-person shooter action with a rich strategic layer, where your decisions have the power to turn the tide in an ongoing war among thousands of online players.
Players can choose to play as 'Heroes', fighting in the trenches, flying planes, commanding tanks and other vehicles on the battlefield, or take control of the war as 'Generals', determining the strategic direction and supporting fellow players by managing battlefield assets, army units and reinforcements.
The 'Generals' part of the game is also playable via the companion app 'Heroes & Generals: Mobile Command' which is available for iOS and Android.

Early Access Review
I've spend 78h in this game, mostly playing with friend, mostly doing hand anty-tank infantry. Pretty fun when done with friend. Driving like crazy on motobike to tank from behind then planting anti-tank granades and watching it blow.Then we both got suddendly banned for &farming experiencepoitnts&. My first thought was what's going on?! Checked email. There was no email, no warning, just instant perma ban on account. I wrote to support, got message back that I violated Terms of Use, because we were farming experience points... And that's being treated by them on same as cheaters are... That's ridicolous... First thing, I'm Polish and I read entire translated polish ToS before even starting to play this game. I usually do when playing multiplayer games. I have found none entry about &farming experience& in any part of it. Nowhere. Checked again after ban. Not a single entry.Second thing, how can you be so arbitraty to ban PERMAMENTLY, without any warning or leisser punishment, without proper information on email, players that are playing to grind in F2P game? Since when playing to grind became considered by any community (of players, not of devs) considered to be bad thing? They created a model that you can for fee of in-game real-money currency pay to get grind quicker, so it hurts them when someone does grind and they ban him. That stands for pretty pathetic, arbitrary dev. Problem of players grinding could be solved in diffrent, more friendly to consumer way instead of banning peps, when you don't like their own worked solution to grind in poorly designed system.Good game 7/10, Devs -3/10, total 2/10. I do not recommend.

- It's free - It runs well - Graphics are fine - Good map variety - Great equipment variety - Lots of progression and unlocks - It started off as a not-so-bad grind. Fun times... Well, here I go to try and write a review. ;)Heroes and Generals is a Free to Play, First Person Shooter/Real Time Stratigy game developed my Reto-Moto, which is based in Denmark. The FPS and RTS are tied together by the gamemode, War.The FPS side of things starts with 3 guys. A Russian, German, and American. All your guys start out with a Semi-Automatic rifle. SVT-40,(Russian) Gewehr 43 (German), and the M1 Garand (USA). Make no mistake, these guns are very good, though they are your starter guns. They can be modded it 2 hit kill, and fast firing. But I would not recommend doing this until you have a larger income, because the repairs will take away some of your earnings.The game has a wide range of weapons, from S-A rifles and bolt actions, to Submachinguns and Assault Rifles. You progress by getting XP on ribbions, and these ribbions progress through levels, at which on each level you may unlock something.I can not really say too much about the RTS side of the game, as I've just started to play it, and as such am figuring it out . ;)There are two kinds of currency in this game, Credits, and Gold. Gold is bought with real life money, and Credits are earned through the FPS side of game. Anything ingame can be bought with credits, Even Veteran (Premium) memberships. You earn credits by hour, so time in battle, not just in the spawn menu, but actually in the battle.As you gain a higher rank soldier you will get a higher salary, thus earn more money. Normal Problems People Have..) The match maker is unfair. No, its not really. In staged, both teams have the exact same things availible to them. Same number of tanks, planes, infantry, paratroopers, they all have the same. So why do I end up ingame agaisnt a team with 5 tanks, when we have 0 you ask? Nobody has used them. Its that simple. Both teams have the same thing open to them, but its up to the players to use them. So if somebody has a tanker, but does not use it you won't have tanks..) Its P2W (Pay too Win)I would call it P2P: Pay too Progress. Anything, anything ingame, can be bought with credits, meaning that its not P2W.Always remember, the strenght of a player lies not in the weapon, but in the seat. To roughly quote a person on the forums. .) The grind is sooooo long. I've seen a person with 3.2 hours say it take eternity to get something. Well, in a way. I won't lie to you, the grind is long, it is hard, and it will take a long time. But once you have that new gun, tank or what ever it is you want, it all seems damn worth it..) This game is full of cheaters and hackers.It was. Once. But the Devs have done a good job of weeding out the bad, and keeping the good. Many people call hacks simply because they are not very good at the game. I once had a newer guy tell me that he was worried he would be accused for hacking because he was 12-5. It is sad when people are afread of being reported for a simple thing like that.Don't get me wrong, there are some hackers out there, but over 900 hours, I have only seen 1, maybe 2. Most people are just really good. .)The game is unfair once I reach level 5.Once you reach level 5 you will be thrown in agaisnt the very best. Tanks, paras, recon with 1 hit kill rifles, fighters constantly dropping bombs on your head. It will all seem very hard, and it is a learning curve, but give it time and stick to it, and soon you will be one of those vets that others complian about. ;) Once you hit level 5, you WILL die alot, but its a game, try not to rage too much. Just respawn and try again.Pros-Its free-Not P2W-Has a lot of stuff to chose from, like Paratroopers, Tankers, Recon, Fighter Pilots, and General. (NOTE: General can not play FPS side of game)-Balanced-Still activly being developed-3 factions to choose fromCons-Long grind-Will die quite a bit-Quite a bit of whiny people who can't handle getting killed. ;)-It has a few bugs here and there-Flight controls feel a bit off to me, but I never got used to them-Explosives, and weapon mods are a bit expensive to maintain until you get a higher rank.Tips.)Don't come in as a know it all. Just because you might play games like CoD and CS:GO does not mean you know all there is to know. This is a different style of game, slower and more realistic..)Listion to the veteran guys. They have more time played, and are better at it. If they give you advice, take it, try it, and if it doesn't work for you, thats OK. And don't be afread to ask for help either..) Always remember its a game, and should not interfear with real life duties. Nor take it to hard if you die..) Please, when disscusing something about how hard something is or all that, remember that all of us where there, all of us were &noobs&..)Respect the devs, as they put a lot of work into this, and none of us really can say that they are doing a bad job, or need to do this or that fully, because almost, if not none of us have ever made a PC game like this. .)Don't act like a know-it-all.Have a nice day, and I hope this was of help!~CaptainRA11

Ever since I started playing this game I noticed that it was just a money grab for the devs. They label it as &BETA& and have publicly stated that they have no intention of releasing a full game any time soon. It's been in a &BETA& stage for almost 2 full years and the reasoning behind this is because they can hide their flaws behind that tag.They continue to push new content that further breaks the balance of the game instead of fixing the issues they already have at hand but hey it's &BETA& so we have to deal with it. The way I see it, as soon as you add any source of micro-transactions the game is already fully released, you can't consider it an &BETA& game anymore. Mostly because games that are in an Alpha stage tend to get wiped after that stage. So once you've added micro-transactions, unless you plan on reimbursing your paying players than it's just utterly wrong.I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone unless you enjoy being frustrated everytime you play. Great concept just poor management from the developers.
