What the developers have to say:
Why Early Access?
&Early Access have allowed us to develop the core features and technology platform of the game of our dreams in the making, which would not have been possible otherwise. We're at a point now where we can finally start to attract the attention of publishers/investors a kickstarting this ambitious franchise. You can follow our progress & recommend publishers for us to work with on our .&
Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?
&In June 2016 we started looking for a publisher/investor to fund the completion of Interstellar Marines: Aspiration and help us release out of Early Access on Steam and port it onto PS4 and Xbox One consoles. Once we have finalized an investment/publishing agreement, we estimate 17 months from that date until Interstellar Marines: Aspiration is completed. We extremely honored to spend this time with you, the player, and share the experience all the way from pre-alpha to the release.&
How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?
&Spearhead and Frontliner Editions will only be available in Early Access for those brave enough to support our quest to make the game of our dreams. For the full version we plan on having a Regular and Deluxe Edition. As far as features our plans for the full version include:
First Person Simulation
A razor-sharp focus on creating a truly immersive First Person Simulator via distinct graphics, audio, and gameplay.
Tactical Co-op
The entire game experience designed from the ground up to support up to 4 players in co-op, with true cooperative interaction.
Progressive Role-Playing
Flat and classless progressive character development and skill system that is not dumbed down for consoles.
Nonlinear Game Design
Open and dynamic game world that always presents a multitude of tactical options for navigating the environment.
Customizable Arsenal
A comprehensive selection of weapon models and types, extension upgrades and equipment options, allowing on-the-fly choice in each tactical situation.
Thinking AI
Enemies that react to input from you and the surrounding game world. We would rather have one smart enemy than five stupid ones.
Believable Science Fiction
Realistic and rich sci-fi environments, ranging from claustrophobic space stations to large outdoor worlds.
Interactive Storyline
A cinematic narrative centered around first contact with another sentient species, where your choices and actions will have consequences.
The full version will be more SP/Co-op focused than the current Early Access version where we are implementing and testing new mechanics primarily in a PvP multiplayer environment.&
What is the current state of the Early Access version?
&The game is in pre-alpha and players can expect to experience bugs, missing features, incomplete content, and some game breaking issues. These are the features you can experience right now:

to see when the most people will be on for you to play with, it is usually during the evenings in North America and Europe.&
Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?
&We intend for the price to follow the value of the game. Expect it to gradually rise as we ship new content, but we may need to lower the price on rare occasions to correct for market conditions.&

About This Game
Interstellar Marines is an immersive tactical sci-fi First Person Simulator in the making, offering a unique blend of tactical gameplay, dynamic environments and non-scriptet AI. Play Singleplayer or Co-op/PvP on servers around the world.
Interstellar Marines is inspired by movies such as Aliens, Starship Troopers and Saving Private R and games such as Half-Life, Deus Ex, System Shock 2, and Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield.
Interstellar Marines is all about evolving the FPS recipe with the inspirations we've assimilated since the birth of the genre. Our goal is an evolutionary leap forward driven by our compulsive interest in science fiction, role-playing, military realism, and respect for first person immersion.
It is the dawn of the 22nd century, a time of great hopes and expectations. The discovery of a new and inexhaustible well of power known as Zero Point Energy has revolutionized space travel. Man has escaped the confines of Mother Earth, and gone on to colonize the solar system.
But far away from public awareness an ambitious military project has already taken Man beyond the final frontier, and into the regions of the stars. The powerful Interplanetary Treaty Organization, ITO, is secretly constructing the first human settlement in another star system.
You are a special forces soldier training to join the Interstellar Marines, a
part of the secret Interstellar Warfare Initiative being established to protect humanity against potential threats from the confines of the unknown universe.
It's time to evaluate the Interstellar Warfare Initiative and program evaluations are taking place at The Vault, ITO’s most advanced military facility on Earth enclosed deep beneath Groom Lake, Nevada. Supervised by SARA, ITO’s central neural network AI, SARA will program artificial weather and advanced combat training robots to test each warfare initiative to the limits.
This is where the game begins ...
Play 5 co-op and single-player missions against unscripted AI with dynamic environment effects or two pivotal missions inside the Interstellar Marines universe, The NeuroGen Incident and Assault on Starcrown Aerospace. Play singleplayer or co-op with up to three friends in intense action with more co-op and singleplayer missions to come!
Unique sandbox combat arena in the making. Wargames is played across 9 distinct interconnected environment zones allowing 64 players to join in the scavenge for combat points, playing alone or in co-op. We have a special Wargames Steam Leaderboard which tracks Combat Points globally, monthly, and survivors of Wargames.
Take your friends out in Deadlock, Deathmatch, and Team Deathmatch on maps featuring dynamic environment effects such as time of day, rain, thunder and lightning, emergency lighting, fire alarms, moving platforms etc.
With a physics-based dynamic character controller there are no floating hands, and you can even see your feet! The physically present combat helmet has a HUD projected onto the visor and is affected by dust, rain, fogging, and damage. Aim down the sight for the long shots and use the tactical laser to assist aim when hip firing, as there are no artificial crosshairs to break immersion. Use the intuitive cro spacebar (default) peeks over cover, and looking down leans you forward to see over ledges. You can also shoot out the lights and prowl in darkness, or use the tactical flashlight if you’re afraid of the dark.
We hope you enjoy the game, and look forward to developing it with you as we progress through Early Access!

Your team at Zero Point Software

Early Access Review
Bought this game a little over 3 years ago, really liked the ideas and aesthetic of the game, Co-op survival story mode, Terrifying land sharks and claustrophobic combat.I played some good matches on multi player, very intense and nerve shredding, but the overall package was pretty barren, so figured i would come back to it after more development time. Since i have checked back from time to time over the years hoping for some progress on the initial goals to no avail, No story, no land sharks, hardly anyone on the servers, it's dead. I feel bad for the guys that paid for the spearhead edition, they are never going to see the future content they paid for if the base game hardly exists. Too much time was spent meandering with minor mp updates and engine conversions till they had probably burned through all their cash and then lost their staff.Another example of the darkside of early access games, poorly planned and unable to meet any of its major goals / selling points.

I bought this game 2 years ago, there have been virtually NO real updates to the content of the game at all in that time. I bought the 4 pack of the game and really, I've been ripped off royally. Not only has the development died, the studio has also flat out lied in it's early marketing promising new additions that have never come. If you are expecting to be a Space Marine, breaching and clearing ships or stations, don't expect that at all. You will be fighting underground in a training facility against a dead player base or robots.Do not spend your money on this scam, if not a scam then a massive mismanagement of time and resources that have lead to literally no real content updates in 2 years. 0/10

Early Access Review
This game is fun. I'll just put that out there to start off. From a personal standpoint, I love the entire concept of it. A real gritty, tactical FPS. But before I go off on a tangeant like that, I'll sum up the pros and cons real quick:PROS:o Excellent gunplayLike, seriously. The weaponry is so satisfying. I got this game way back, back when there was just one weapon - the SMG. Even then, it was awesome. Now they have a an Assault Rifle, and a Pistol.. Thing. Either way, there's just something very satisfying about managing to headshot someone down a corridor, all sneaky beaky like.o EnvironmentsFrom the few maps there are, already it's clear a lot of time and effort is put into things. The attention to detail really shows, with some of the more lush/open maps (such as one that randomly changes setting every now and then) being extremely well done. The layout is also rather cool, as communicating with a squad and moving through a building feels very, very satisfying.o The Suit/UIFrom passive noises, to the dynamic of the HUD projected onto a proper model of the visor, the in-game UI feels very realistic, and looks badass. After being hit several times, the suit HUD even reacts, malfunctioning. This gives you a sound muffling effect as well, as if all electronics just shut down. And it pays off, resulting in a really immersive experience. The best part though? There's a key that lets you raise and lower the helmet visor - meaning if you wanna play without a HUD, you can.o AICombat AI it could do with being better, but as it stands, it is still rather formidable and entertaining to play against. Even alone, they can be challenging. Countless times I've gotten to the end of a section, with only two combat training droids to go, only to be flanked by them at the last second. Not fun, but a testament to how much you have to pay attention in this game to noise, as well as visuals.CONS:o Not much contentAt the time of writing this review (03/10/2016), the on a handful of &Search and Destroy& style levels where you have to shoot and destroy all combat training droids in a map, A few missions where you have to trigger switches while avoiding combat droids, and two story missions - one being where you have to break into a secure compound and extract information, the other where you have to extract information from a science lab station. While both are cool, the game does get stale after a while, however multiplayer PvP is definitely fun (although I suck at that).o Slow development timeFrom what I've heard, the game only has one full time developer due to financial issues. While that is rather.. Well, disappointing, it does testify as to how good this guy is. It's gonna take a lot of time for new content to be worked on (and at this rate, the game to be finished), but over the past couple of years there has been a few new additions - a couple of maps (rather large ones), and two new weapons. This definitely isn't a game to play if you want it right away, right now.o PlayerbaseThere tends to not be as many players nowadays, most likely due to the slow development time. This game isn't going to be finished any time soon. This does mean that there is only one or two full matches on at a time, if you are lucky, and they tend to be PvP. If you want to play on Co-op, then l you are highly unlikely to find anyone online.o Server HostingWhile most servers tend to be really, really good, there are a few issues. The way server hosting works is, instead of having the ability to host your own server, you join an empty server and claim it as your own. This means you can change settings (such as password and player limit) and then you basically are happy as Larry. While that system works, it (used to be) very, very frustrating if you just wanted to play co-op with friends, and ended up with three other random people joining. And then your friends end up hosting their own, and the same goes on and on.SummaryThis game is good as it is, but it isn't exactly a full game. At the current price, I would recommend it. However, if you are after a game that is going to be done soon, or prefer not to be patient and see the development process through, I suggest looking elsewhere. This game has a lot of potential ahead of it, and while a lot of setbacks have overcome the developers, I am sure that given time they will make something very playabe, very decent, and very fun. That and the helmet feature is f***in awesome.

Sure sounded like a game I would like, but they left out the fun part.I was hoping I could play this game with my team on game night, but I never enjoyed it, so it failed THAT test.

How about you work on the f*cking Campaign instead of trying to make the main menu look better you idiots. Then once you've done that, implement co-op into that campaign.

Stealthly removing invert mouselook is not a step towards space sharks.
Early Access Review
there are many reviews complaning that this game is not finished and that is true.but that does not matter that much since this game, at its highest difficulty called realistic, offer several extremely challenging missions that can certainly refine your skill for only 11 CAD. I have played this game for 9 hours now but still have not been able to finish a single misson completely because it has an AI that adapts to your behaviours which is something that I have never seen in a fps game (played solo). My KD ratio in insurgency right now is 1:1.

Early Access Review
Salty as all hell I put money into this, just another clear example why the Early Access program is abused. I feel sorry for anyone who put money into the Spearhead Edition when the Devs have pretty much made it clear that the game is not going to get finished at all. Its a shame, really, the game looked really good and their ideas I greatly enjoyed, the main idea they had I didn't agree with was taking the money and running, I guess.Oh well, fool me once.

Early Access Review
After 4 years, this game barely has any improvements. Instead of developing the core of the game, and giving players what they were promised, the developers took years to keep adding little things that are irrelevant. There are stll no space sharks and no enemies apart from training bots, no big mech, no working spaceships, no storyline. (Seriously? Making skins came before making the enemies?) The missions are also very vague with no proper UI on what to do. I've been a spearhead since before the game went on steam, and the only proper gameplay the developers ever shown were the ones they had while they were on the old engine, almost a decade ago.
Early Access Review
It has potential. It just sucks when you join a coop, sometime players will randomly kill you. Graphic is good, aspect of the game overall is good. Only reason why its a mixed review is because the developer is not updating fast enough. Budgets...if I had money, i would support them. Give it a chance and play with some friends. I hope this game will come back alive.
Early Access Review
This game is awesome.Lacks some gamemodes, guns, maps, but the mechanics sound efects, and preatty much other than that this game is awesome. Can't wait for it to exit beta,so more people can come and play.
